We're up to Part Six:

This is Part One of a Twelve Part Article on driving traffic without Google.

It happens to enough web sites and webmasters, to be a major concern. You wake up one day and find your site or your client’s site has been penalized or delisted by Google. Your traffic has dropped down to nothing. Your site, which previously ranked at number one for your keyword phrase or phrases is now on page five, six or seven of the page results or even worse, the last page of the search results.

You have no idea why this has happened. And Google is not interested in telling you. So, you check your site looking for bad links, spam links, duplicate content and strange redirects. However, since the majority of your traffic comes from Google and a large part of your revenue comes from Adsense, you are, for all intent and purposes out of business.

For anyone who has more than 80% of their business coming from Google organic search results, there are a few things you should be doing:

1. You should have a base of quality, related links.

The links can be responsible for a lot of traffic being sent your way. So don’t ignore quality for quantity. Try to get your links on related quality sites posted in articles. Some of my favorite words are: “Some sites you might be interested in,” after an article. It’s better to have ten high quality, related links sending you traffic, than it is to have a thousand links sending you nothing.

Plan on returning the favor by including relevant links at the bottom of all your articles to other sites.
