One Way Back Links

We all know that one way back links is an important part of driving traffic.

I'll be the first person to admit, that I'm horrible at driving traffic. While I've gotten better over time, getting one way back links is tedious, time consuming and 90% of the time when you request links from other webmasters, they delete your emails without reading them. On the other side of the fence, since most of my sites are set up for automatic link exchanges, link request emails are annoying.

Then, I started getting emails about Google Annilation, which interested me, but it was too expensive, restrictive and sold out. As in, you can't get in the program now. I looked for reviews on Google Annilation and found that is was nothing more than 3-way linkage. Site A, links to site B, which links to site C, who in turn links to site A. So, they're all considered one way links.

I do have to tell you that Google doesn't frown upon reciprocal links, despite the crap that you see in forums from webmasters who are afraid of their own shadows. Google simply wants you to exchange links with relevant sites - not just sites that push PR. However, they hate 3 way links...so use this stuff with caution.

In researching Google Annilation, I found three systems that get you backlinks. Unlike GotLinks.com, there is no open directory stating that you belong to the systems. Unlike other linkage schemes, you don't have to have a PR3 to participate for free.

Since I have about 60 websites in different stages of development, I decided to take three of them and try out 3 automatic back link systems. Before you do anything like this, I want to stress that Google frowns on these types of systems. You could wind up getting all your links discounted and your websites banned from Google.

While it is too soon to judge their effectiveness, it isn't too soon to tell you about the systems.

Automatic Backlinks

Free program - all you need is a site with PR. Their system mixes and matches other ranked websites with yours. There is a large pool of sites, special modules for Joomla, WordPress and other types of websites. It takes about 4 days for the system to recognize your site.

You get to exclude categories (gambling and adult content) and foreign languages. You get to choose how many links are placed on your pages. You are updated via email daily on activity on your site. Any system or user changes are noted in your user panel as soon as you log into the site.

Did I mention this is free? It's a freaking impressive system.

I screwed up setting up my site and left Dutch as the default language for exchanges. After figuring out what I did, I changed my defaults and deleted those links. They were replaced almost immediately by links in English.

As long as you remember that you must set up your site AND your campaign for English, you should be good.

Dimension SEO

Paid program for back links through a special membership forum. This is a service, not a link exchange program. And the price is cheap for 100 backlinks.

I'm waiting for the initial campaign to be generated before I expand the package to more than 100 backlinks, which should be from social networking. Until the package is done, no recommendation.

Just make sure you never click the project link from inside your Dimension SEO user panel to your site.

And then, there's

Neurolinker

Neurolinker is better than Google Annilation, just less promoted. No PR is required for the sites you submit. You can list 100 websites in their system. You can post articles that you spin to the system with reference boxes. You can get articles from the system that have been spun for unique content. You can Digg, Stumble and Onlywire other sites in the system, who will in turn do the same for you.

At $27 a month it's the most expensive alternative and I wish I'd found it when it was in Beta. The cool thing about this, is if you decide to withdraw from the system after a year, if you've been diligent about articles and social bookmarketing, there are a boatload of links that you've generated that will not evaporate into thin air.

And again, I'm waiting for my initial campaign to be approved.

When Dimension SEO and Neurolinker have my campaigns up and running, I'll expand this article. I'll revisit this in a week and let you know where we stand.
