Page 1 of 3 After you come up with a few ideas for your new website, your next step is to research keywords. Keywords will help you build content rich pages for your website. And help you with your long-term goal of building your website’s FREE qualified traffic. It’s possible to build a website and have it up and ready to do business in a day. (This is our next chapter.) If you want to build a website that delivers qualified visitors in the long-term, sooner or later, you will have to deal with keywords and SEO - Search Engine Optimization. Since Google has removed access to Overture’s keyword tools, we have to look up our keyword stats a different way. Let’s use Jim the Plumber as our example and the following tools. First go to Google Adwords Keyword Tool and look up “plumber.” Make sure that you have the button “Descriptive Words & Phrases” checked. Once your search is completed, sort your results by “Average Search Volume." Jim picked up the first set of keywords/key phrases for his list. While he was still in Adwords, he decided to look up “how to fix plumbing,” for his ebook site. He got key phrases from this search and more recommendations from Adwords.
Finally, Jim typed in each of his keywords, key phrases in Google search. And created the following chart.
